Ange Postecoglou ‘sack sealed’ amid bombshell Tottenham exit news

Ange Postecoglou’s miserable time as Tottenham manager is coming to an end.

Tottenham suffered their 17th Premier League defeat of the season against Wolves last time out, showcasing just how hopeless they have been under the stewardship of Postecoglou.

Had it not been for the lack of quality among the three teams sitting at the bottom of the division, there is every chance that Tottenham would still be in a relegation scrap, with them still yet to reach the typical benchmark of 40 points required to stay up.

Europa League success remains a possibility for Spurs, though it’s highly unlikely to change the fate of Postecoglou, who may already be aware where his future lies.

Tottenham will sack Postecoglou regardless of Europa League success

Tottenham have endured a dreadful domestic campaign, and unless they can find a route past Frankfurt on Thursday, it looks as though it will end without any silverware.

However, regardless of whether they find success through the competition, Postecoglou will be sacked at the end of the campaign, according to talkSPORT (15 April).

If that were to happen, it’s unlikely to come as any surprise to most, given the fallout between fans and Postecoglou, as well as the apparent disagreements between him and several first-team players.

Work is believed to already be underway in the search to find his successor, in a decision that Daniel Levy cannot afford to make another mistake.

Levy must showcase ambition this summer at Spurs

With Postecoglou’s time coming to an apparent end, much of the focus will be on who comes in to replace him.

However, the issue is far more deep-rooted than that for Tottenham, because if Levy doesn’t back them with players capable of making an immediate impact, it makes little difference who comes through the door.

This summer is the time for Levy to show his real ambition for Spurs and get them headed back in the right direction.
