Supercomputer predicts Tottenham chances vs Everton in Premier League showdown

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to get their first win of the Premier League season against Everton.

The Lilywhites host the Toffees at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, coming off the back of a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Everton have started the season far better than Spurs, with five points from three, including a last-minute draw against Manchester United in their last fixture.

Though David Moyes' side are unbeaten in six, including pre-season games, they have only won one of their last 16 away visits to Tottenham.

Roberto De Zerbi will be looking for a response, but has suffered another injury setback, with Mykhailo Mudryk now out with an ankle issue.

The Lilywhites had the third-worst home record in the Premier League last season, only winning three of 19 games on their own soil, and need to turn things around in N17 this campaign.

Thankfully for them, Everton at home is usually a fixture that's nice to them, and Opta's supercomputer has predicted De Zerbi's side to get the three points.

Tottenham are the favourites with a 48.2 per cent chance of winning, while Everton only have an estimated 27.1 per cent chance of victory.

This leaves a 24.7 per cent chance of a draw, something which Moyes' side would most likely be happy with.

Overall, there is a 51.8 per cent chance that Tottenham will drop points, and they are currently predicted by Opta to finish 13th on 46.83 points.

One main criticism of Spurs last season was that the players did not look interested enough.

De Zerbi certainly lit a fire in the belly of several stars last season, but needs to find the same spark now.

Everton's squad have covered a total running distance of 70.4 miles so far in the opening three league games, while Tottenham are joint-bottom in the same area with 68.9

The Toffees are a team that will outwork anybody in the league if their opposition doesn't turn up to fight, and talent will not carry Tottenham over the finish line in this one.

Spurs will need to dig deep and work hard against Everton, or else they risk things getting toxic in N17 far too early.

The Lilywhites have won their past five home meetings against Everton with a combined score of 14-1.

However, Tottenham have generated 2.6 xG from 27 shots in the league this season without scoring, and need to find their shooting boots in this one.
