When Tottenham could green-light Mikey Moore exit as timeframe emerges
Tottenham Hotspur could still let Mikey Moore leave this summer.
The teenager has faced a turbulent transfer window to this point.
He returned to North London for pre-season after winning the Young Player of the Year award in Scotland with Rangers.
The winger was superb at Ibrox and proved just how good he can be at first-team level.
That didn't look set to earn Moore a regular role under Roberto De Zerbi moving into the new campaign.
A move was once on the cards, was then was pulled from underneath him, but could still be in the pipeline.
Why optimism has built for Mikey Moore transfer
There was a general feeling in N17 that the youngster was going to struggle for minutes this season.
That saw an exit make complete sense to help maintain his progress from his spell at Rangers.
He was absent for two weeks from pre-season friendlies as a departure looked to be in the pipeline.
That was until he returned against Hoffenheim at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he scored two goals in an 81 minute cameo.
Despite that, Florian Plettenberg has reported that a deal is still on for Koln to sign Moore on loan.
The Sky Sports journalist took to X on Friday to suggest that the Bundesliga outfit are still "optimistic about receiving the green light" to sign the attacker.
A move could come after Spurs' opener against Brentford as he is expected to be in the squad at the Gtech Community Stadium.
That could see a transfer be arranged within days as Spurs prepare to face the Bees on Saturday.
Will Tottenham regret loaning out Moore?
There is a feeling in North London that the academy talent could be a useful asset moving forward.
There is a need for winger options this season as Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus and Wilson Odobert continue to struggle with injury.
The irony is, that loaning out Moore could prove to be much more beneficial in the long term.
Should any of that trio return, it will hamper the Englishman's game time and, therefore, his development.
Letting him go would make sense to help him become the player the Lilywhites know he can be.
It may seem silly now, but Tottenham might not regret loaning Moore this summer.
