What Tottenham need from Liverpool to seal Cody Gakpo transfer
Tottenham Hotspur continue to eye a move for Cody Gakpo at Liverpool.
The Lilywhites are on the lookout for a new wide option moving closer to the Premier League campaign.
Roberto De Zerbi has had his eye on several attacking targets so far this summer, but hasn't landed one yet.
That will see his search continue as the Netherlands international remains on the shortlist.
The 27-year-old continues to be a player of interest to Spurs after a frustrating campaign at Anfield.
Gakpo could soon be on his way to North London, while Spurs wait on more information from Liverpool.
Tottenham waiting before Cody Gakpo swoop
The Dutchman has been linked with an N17 switch throughout the summer.
A deal is yet to be arranged, as is the case for another Spurs target in Manchester City's Savinho, as covered by Tottenham News.
Things could soon change surrounding Gakpo as the summer window continues.
That comes after Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday that the Lilywhites are set to step up their efforts to sign the 1999-born ace.
Talks will soon reach "key stages", but the deal all depends on Liverpool's intention and asking price.
Andoni Iraola and Co. haven't planned on selling the attacker this summer, so it leaves them with a decision to make.
Tottenham now have to wait for that information before they can ultimately strike a deal for Gakpo.
How much could Liverpool demand for Gakpo?
The Reds ace is certainly experienced at the top level having featured on Merseyside now for four seasons.
That came off the back of five campaigns as a regular with PSV, where he developed a great reputation.
Although that may have started to slide somewhat, Liverpool could still demand upwards of £50million for his signature.
Some reports even suggest that £70m could be the asking price at Anfield for the Dutchman.
That would certainly represent another major fee for the Lilywhites to fork out.
For now, all they can do is wait until Iraola's side confirm exactly what they want to potentially get a deal done.
