Radu Dragusin is finally ending his disastrous spell at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Fiorentina have agreed a deal to sign the centre-back on loan from the North London outfit with an obligation to buy

The package deal for the Romania international's departure will come to £16.5million, with the Serie A side paying a loan fee and his wages for the season.

Dragusin asked to leave Spurs in the transfer window and has gotten his wish.

The next step for the 24-year-old will be to undergo his medical, which is scheduled for early next week.

In January 2024, the Lilywhites paid £25m to sign the defender from Genoa, but he has failed to live up to expectations in N17, with persistent fitness issues not helping his cause.

Tottenham centre-back options assessed after Radu Dragusin exit

Tottenham have bolstered their backline with Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, who was signed for £52m from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been the first-choice centre-back partnership at the North London outfit when they are fit.

Kevin Danso has also put in some decent performances for Spurs in recent months, while Ben Davies and youngsters Ashley Phillips and Kota Takai are also at Roberto De Zerbi's disposal for pre-season.

Luka Vuskovic is expected to join Brighton soon, and with Fabrizio Romano reporting on Dragusin's exit on 5 July, it's understandable considering the number of options the Lilywhites have at centre-back.

Next Tottenham exits after Radu Dragusin to fund historic summer

Tottenham are expected to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in a deal worth £100m, which would break their previous spending record for the season.

With Mateus Fernandes also making his way to Spurs for a significant fee, De Zerbi has overhauled his engine room to a considerable extent.

Alongside numbers needing to be trimmed at centre-back, the North London outfit could be staring at a similar situation in the midfield, with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Conor Gallagher some of the options.

James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski could also potentially be forced out of the club soon after struggling with injuries.
