Tottenham Hotspur are at the centre of attention in the transfer market following the latest update regarding Luka Vuskovic.

The defender enjoyed a tremendous spell with German giants Hamburg this term, earning a fan-favourite spot during the process.

Joining Spurs permanently in the summer of 2025, the 19-year-old Croatian was sent straight to the Bundesliga for minutes.

In those minutes, he more than impressed, with Hamburg supporters baffled following Brighton's bid for the defender.

Amid ongoing talks between Spurs and Brighton for the signature of Jan Paul van Hecke, the Seagulls have prepared a £30million bid for Lilywhites centre-back Vuskovic.

And thanks to the baffling figure, fans in Hamburg are in disbelief after watching him shine at the Volksparkstadion.

With his brother Mario also on the books at HSV, it did not take long for Vuskovic to earn a cult hero status for the Red Shorts.

The older of the two siblings is currently serving a doping ban, meaning that his younger brother instantly took the limelight at the newly promoted giant, backed up by his talismanic performances.

Reacting to the news of the bid, well-known HSV fan and content creator Fiago chipped in, calling the figure an insult to Vuskovic.

Others would go straight for Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi, saying: "The fact that Spurs/De Zerbi even want to let him go is nuts, but for 30m? They all need to be fired."

An account covering HSV in English would jump at the chance to question the figure.

The same account would joke about the matter, suggesting a way in which the Red Shorts would be able to purchase the defender themselves.

After a sensational term at the Volksparkstadion, Vuskovic will be remembered fondly if there is no chance of a return this summer, with supporters still expressing how much they miss him.

However, Tottenham could well remain unnerved by what is a quite frankly remarkable offer - for the wrong reasons.

But even so, the young Croatian faces an uncertain future.

Could Tottenham be set for a blunder with Vuskovic?

With Tottenham involved in the relegation battle this term, they can consider themselves lucky that there is even a conversation going on regarding Vuskovic remaining at the club.

At Hamburg, he has well and truly sealed his spot as the finest young defender in Europe.

But even with this in mind, he does not appear part of De Zerbi's plans, given the signing of Senesi, and interest in Van Hecke.

The fact of the matter is that Vuskovic could be on his way to becoming one of the very best in the world, while his stock could rise even higher with a strong World Cup.

Should they let go of him this summer, Spurs may well be made to carry huge regrets in years to come, even after being handed a second chance with the Croatian.
