Mikey Moore is set to stick at Tottenham and be handed a chance at Tottenham.

That is the view of Spurs expert John Wenham, who thinks that Roberto De Zerbi will want to take a proper look at him.

The 18-year-old spent the last campaign at Rangers, where he notched seven goals and four assists.

Moore had been linked with a return to Rangers, but a much more controversial move had been mooted in recent weeks.

There were reports that the academy star could leave again on loan, with the destination not being satisfactory for Lilywhites supporters.

Wenham has called out the media after the speculation on Spurs' plans for Moore's future.

What has been said about the media and Mikey Moore?

Moore was linked with a loan move to West Ham, who have just been relegated to the Championship.

Wenham, who runs the Lilywhite Rose account, believes it is nonsense, especially given the fact that his family support their arch-rivals, Millwall.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: "I think Mikey Moore will be given the opportunity to impress in pre-season.

"I've seen the reported rumours of a move to West Ham on loan, I can categorically tell you that, if Mikey was to make that move, he certainly would be playing alone and his family wouldn't be there to support him, as they are huge Millwall fans.

"I don't see an 18-year-old Millwall fan making that move to West Ham personally, but the media will run what stories they're going to run."

Why a loan to West Ham would not have been right for Moore

A potential move to the Hammers would have potentially rubbed Spurs fans up the wrong way anyway.

There have been tensions between the clubs recently, with the East London side's supporters trying to force a rivalry.

In reality, the N17 outfit take their best players, like Mohammed Kudus and Mateus Fernandes, but that is a bitter pill for the Irons fans to swallow.

They would have likely been hostile to Moore given his connection to Millwall and their 'rivalry' with his parent club.

If he did not perform straight away, things would have gone south pretty quickly, so it is best for all parties that the move is not happening.
