Tottenham fans at odds over Roberto De Zerbi after new transfer update - 'Killing the only good thing our club has done since 2019'
Tottenham Hotspur have been busy re-shaping Roberto De Zerbi's squad for next season.
The Italian rescued Spurs from relegation in what would have been an almighty embarrassment last term.
Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke have all been added to a backline that struggled badly in the previous campaign.
Indeed, only relegated trio West Ham (65), Burnley (75), and Wolves (68) shipped more than the 57 Spurs did last term.
But there remains doubt over the future of teenage prospect Luka Vuskovic, who has been consistently linked with a move to Brighton in recent weeks.
And a fresh update has sparked fresh debate over what Tottenham should do with the 19-year-old among the fanbase.
Could Luka Vuskovic force his way out of Tottenham this summer?
Spurs cut a deal with the exciting prospect back in 2023, in a deal said to be worth around £12million.
The Lilywhites had wanted Vuskovic to remain a part of the squad last term, and he was involved in early matchdays, before he requested to go on loan and was sent to Hamburg for the season.
With Spurs adding to a defence that already includes the likes of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, and Radu Dragusin, Vuskovic's prospects of regular football in North London look slim.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that Brighton were ready to make an improved offer which could eventually be worth £45m for Vuskovic.
The Evening Standard then later reported that the 19-year-old - currently representing Croatia at the World Cup - is ready to hand in a transfer request to force his arm.
Tottenham fans split on Luka Vuskovic news
Tottenham supporters have been reacting to the latest update, and not everyone is happy with the prospect of a sale.
One fan accused De Zerbi of "killing the only good thing the club has done since 2019", and said Spurs are "swapping short-term pain for long-term pain."
Another said negotiations should even begin unless there's a sell-on or buy-back clause included, and another said a sale would be "idiotic."
However, others were more open to the idea of one selling Vuskovic, with one supporter saying he would not break in amid the myriad of options Spurs have at centre-back.
Another suggested selling Vuskovic, along with the likes of Guglielmo Vicario and Dragusin would raise funds to spend elsewhere, while another suggested "he's not ready" to play for Spurs.
