Sandro Tonali one of four dismal 2/10s, no one above 5/10 - Every Tottenham summer transfer ranked

Tottenham Hotspur's summer spending spree has not yet yielded the results Spurs fans expected.

Roberto De Zerbi saved Tottenham from an embarrassing relegation last season.

But they find themselves bottom of the Premier League during the first international break having taken just two points from five games.

That is despite the fact Spurs forked over £300million in the summer transfer window.

In total, Spurs brought in 10 new players but there has been little sign yet that they are stronger than they were during a dismal campaign last term.

Here, Tottenham News has ranked every signing for their performances so far.

Martin Dubravka - 5/10

Experienced goalkeeper Martin Dubravka was signed on a free transfer to act as back-up to Antonin Kinsky.

His only performance so far came in the 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool in round three.

In the main Dubravka did not do a great deal wrong, and even at the age of 37 looks an able deputy if Kinsky comes out the team.

Tosin Adarabioyo - 5/10

Tosin Adarabioyo was signed in a deadline-busting deal from Chelsea after Kevin Danso pushed for a move to Sunderland.

The 28-year-old centre-back's only start was in that Liverpool setback, though he did come off the bench against Everton in a game that finished goalless.

It is hard to make any definitive judgements on the former Fulham man, who must fancy more minutes if Spurs' woes continue.

Marcos Senesi - 4/10

Another centre-back signed during the summer, on a free transfer from Bournemouth, is Marcos Senesi.

Thus far the Argentina international has made just a couple of appearances, largely because he wants to play left centre-back like Micky van de Ven.

But he was all at sea in the season-opening 3-0 defeat at Brentford, and he was part of a defence that shipped another three in that Liverpool Carabao Cup loss, so there is much improvement needed.

Jan Paul van Hecke - 2/10

Signed for £52million from Brighton to reunite him with De Zerbi, Jan Paul van Hecke was supposed to be a more calming presence than former captain Cristian Romero was.

The Dutchman did help keep a couple of clean sheets in draws with Nottingham Forest and Everton.

But, considering the outlay, Van Hecke has not proven worth the money yet, and looked especially shaky in the latest 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa.

Van Hecke was impressing at the World Cup in the summer before Netherlands were knocked out in the last 32, but he simply has to be a better presence in this Spurs defence.

Andrew Robertson - 2/10

Andrew Robertson nearly joined Tottenham in the winter, but eventually signed on a free transfer this summer.

Now aged 32, the Scotland international looks well off the sort of form that made him such a hero at Anfield for so long.

He made a costly error that helped Villa take the lead last time out, when the game was on a knife-edge at 0-0.

Robertson did end up with an assist in that game, but in general there are question marks over whether he can play in a high-octane system preferred by De Zerbi.

Sandro Tonali - 2/10

Spurs forked out over £100million to sign Italy international Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United.

Tonali was supposed to be the jewel in the crown of Spurs' ambitious rebuild, with several other teams having been linked to his signature.

But Tonali just has not looked worth the price tag so far, looking rushed in possession, and struggling to dictate the tempo of games.

Spurs need way more from Tonali after the international break.

Mateus Fernandes - 3/10

Much like Tonali, Mateus Fernandes was meant to be a huge upgrade on Spurs' options in midfield.

A whopping £85million was forked out to London rivals West Ham to land Fernandes, who has struggled to convince De Zerbi so far.

Indeed, he was hauled off at half-time against Villa, with De Zerbi candidly saying he did like not his performances.

Fernandes is another who absolutely must find another gear when domestic football resumes.

Savio - 2/10

De Zerbi bolstered his attack in the closing days of the transfer window, and eyebrows were raised when Spurs agreed a deal that could be worth £85m with Manchester City for Savio.

A goal and an assist on debut in the 5-1 Carabao Cup hammering of Charlton Athletic gave hope that he could be a good fit at Spurs.

But since then, Savio has floundered, and simply does not look worth the money have paid.

Spurs have struggled badly for goals, and Savio is meant to be a creator and scorer. They need him to start doing that and fast.

Omar Marmoush - 3/10

Like Savio, Omar Marmoush moved to Tottenham from Man City, on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

But the Egyptian has so far failed to score or assist for Tottenham, and is another who looks well off the pace.

Perhaps a break from club duties can help the 27-year-old rediscover some form, but frankly he has to do much, much more.

Mykhailo Mudryk - N/A

De Zerbi reunited with Mykhailo Mudryk, who he coach at Shakhtar Donetsk, after a doping case for the Ukraine international was settled.

Chelsea opted to send him out on loan, with Spurs retaining an £85m purchase option.

But Mudryk made just one cameo off the bench against Nottingham Forest before suffering an ankle injury that has left him on the sidelines.

Thus it would not really be fair to give him a score just yet.
