Tottenham Hotspur are showing serious ambition in the transfer market, but it could spell bad news for some - Pape Matar Sarr included.

Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes have came through the door, following Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson.

So far, the Lilywhites have spent close to £250million, and are not looking to stop there.

This comes after Roberto De Zerbi guided Spurs to safety following his appointment late last term.

Looking to recover from successive 17th-place finishes, wholesale changes are needed in North London.

After the big recruitment decisions, Tottenham fans have made their thoughts clear on who should be in line for an exit.

Pape Matar Sarr part of uncomfortable Tottenham conversation

Sarr would make just 26 Premier League appearances last term - racking up 1,389 minutes in the process.

Under De Zerbi, his struggles would intensify, as he registered less than 45 minutes of football in the final four of the season.

Discussing who may be set to leave after the signings of Tonali and Fernandes, Spurs fans put Sarr's name on the table.

"Sell Sarr," said one supporter on X - something that would become a common theme.

Joining the club in 2023, Sarr has shown promise in North London, but has ultimately been unable to earn a spot as a guaranteed starter.

The fan who started the discussion would recognise this, despite his obvious talent.

The second name would differentiate between Conor Gallagher, Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur in the majority, but Sarr remained the popular pick.

Ultimately, Sarr's Tottenham spell could be over, with the fanbase making their thoughts more than clear, after the club have worked well to secure a pair of incredibly ambitious signings in Tonali and Fernandes.

Tottenham still have to be careful despite midfield investment

Tottenham have stunned the rest of the Premier League this summer with the signings of Tonali and Fernandes.

Showing that the ambitions really have changed, fans in North London can begin to believe.

But they must still be careful, despite the new shiny toys in midfield.

For too long, Spurs have continued to suffer with continuous injury woes, resulting in De Zerbi taking over a razor thin squad earlier this year.

The squad does have to be trimmed after this summer's arrivals, but Tottenham absolutely must be careful and not goo too far with this, to fully put the depth woes in the past.
