Tottenham to accept cut-price Cristian Romero transfer to ‘get him out’ after latest controversy
Tottenham Hotspur could arrange an immediate exit for Cristian Romero.
The Argentina international has never been far from controversy since moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That has only taken a step up in the past week despite him being unavailable to play due to a knee injury.
Spurs fans were left raging when the skipper was reportedly set to miss the all-important final day game against Everton in favour of watching his boyhood club Belgrano.
He may have returned to North London instead, but it could be the end of the road for Romero at Tottenham after this latest controversy.

Tottenham told to sell Cristian Romero immediately
After five years with the Lilywhites, you would have thought the defender would care about such a massive fixture for the future of the N17 outfit.
That clearly didn’t come to his mind as he was willing to sacrifice that long and over 150 appearances to go and watch his boyhood side face River Plate.
| Stat | Cristian Romero |
| Appearances | 156 |
| Goals | 13 |
| Assists | 7 |
| Cards | 47 |
That sparked plenty of frustration amongst fans, which seemingly reached the Argentine, and he returned to the capital to watch the Everton clash.
He may have done the right thing in the end, but the fact that he had to be told sums up the state of the Spurs side.
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King has urged his old side to sell their captain immediately, with a £30million fee potentially enough to get him out the door.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “Somebody told him to go back [to watch the Everton match], I’m sure.
“I can’t see him being there next season. Whoever made him captain needs to be examined.
“He’s suited for Spain or Italy, but if I were Tottenham, I would accept £30m just to get him out of the club.”
Romero has been slammed at Tottenham, and it appears he could be on his way out even after relegation was avoided on the final day.
Who could Cristian Romero join?
It feels like it is time for a reset at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, so moving the Argentine on could be the perfect idea for all parties.
Moving him on for £30m may seem like a low fee to some, but it could open the door for Marcos Senesi and Luka Vuskovic to come in and fight for a starting role.
Questions may arise about where Romero could move, but there is certainly an obvious location.

Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone feels like somewhere he would thrive due to the fiery nature of the Rojiblancos.
There are plenty of other big sides who would likely appreciate his signature, but a move to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium could suit all parties.
