Tottenham Hotspur earned a morale-boosting win over Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

After being humbled 3-0 by Brentford in their Premier League opener last weekend, Spurs needed a response.

And Roberto De Zerbi's men ran out 5-1 victors over the Championship side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

New boy Savio scored off the bench, while Mikey Moore, Dominic Solanke, Kevin Danso, and Ben Davies were also on target.

A much sterner test lies in wait at home soil on Saturday, though, as Newcastle United make the trip to North London in the Premier League.

Here, Tottenham News has predicted that Roberto De Zerbi will make six changes to the starting XI that began the game agains Charlton.

It was perhaps a bit of a surprise to not see Martin Dubravka get a run out against Charlton, but despite an unconvincing display against Brentford it is likely Antonin Kinsky will keep the gloves against the Magpies.

However, there could be a switch at right-back, with World Cup winner Pedro Porro coming off the bench against Charlton.

The Spaniard made two recoveries and had one progressive carry, and could come in for Archie Gray, despite the youngster being handed the armband against the Bees.

Andy Robertson could come back in for Destiny Udogie at left-back, while Jan Paul van Hecke is set to retain his spot.

Davies may have got on the target, while he finished with four clearances and three recoveries, but Marcos Senesi is predicted to get another shot in the centre of defence.

Moving into midfield, Rodrigo Bentancur impressed against Charlton, making three key passes and finishing with a 94 per cent pass accuracy in his own half (96 per cent altogether).

However, De Zerbi is likely to bring Sandro Tonali back in as he will be desperate to impress against the club he left in the summer.

Mateus Fernandes is line to keep his spot, while Conor Gallagher is a De Zerbi favourite and might replace Lucas Bergvall in a midfield trio.

Looking further forward, Mikey Moore impressed against the Addicks, finishing with a goal and an assist.
