How Jamie Redknapp's 'bright spark' Savinho claim hit the bullseye after Tottenham vs Everton
Jamie Redknapp was left impressed with Savinho's performance for Tottenham Hotspur against Everton on Saturday.
The Lilywhites were held to a 0-0 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as their wait for a goal in the league goes on.
Roberto De Zerbi's men had plenty of dangerous moments in the opening stages of the game, but failed to capitalise on their possession.
Savinho looked like their most creative outlet, but it still feels like Spurs miss a target man to put away the chances.
Frustration is growing in N17 following the result, but there was still one positive to take from the draw.
Savinho is that positive, and Redknapp perfectly summed up how key the Brazilian now is for Tottenham.
Jamie Redknapp claims Savinho has zero 'fear' in his playstyle
Savinho was tracked by Tottenham for months until they eventually signed him from Manchester City earlier this summer.
After an impressive first 45 minutes in particular, Redknapp shares his thoughts on Savinho while speaking on Sky Sports at half-time.
Redknapp said: "He's looked extremely sharp. He's been the bright one on the pitch; he's always looked to be proactive.
"He's been a really, really bright spark in Tottenham and he's the one player who you think is not suffocated by the fear of everyone else."
The 22-year-old made the most dribbles in the game with four, at a success rate of 57 per cent, but he also had the most touches in the opposition's box out of anyone else on the field, with nine.
He put seven crosses into the box during the match, creating four chances in total, the most out of the Tottenham players on the field.
Savinho completed 88 per cent of his passes and even chipped in with six defensive contributions.
The Brazilian hit a top speed of 20.9 miles per hour, making 13 sprints, as per FotMob data.
Savinho still has some decision-making issues to touch up on, but he is the only Tottenham player who is trying things in the final third.
But he clearly needs some help from his teammates.
What Roberto De Zerbi has learned after Everton game
Tottenham are not creating enough chances.
It took 47 minutes for the hosts to have their first shot on target, which only generated 0.02 xG in itself.
Tottenham had seven shots in the first 45, creating 0.32 xG, with several wild attempts from range.
It's simply not good enough for having over 60 per cent of possession, and it didn't improve in the second half either.
Thankfully, there are positives for De Zerbi with the likes of Savinho, but other forwards are now getting back to fitness, like James Maddison and Mohammed Kudus.
