Tottenham: Mikey Moore spotted in first-team training before Arsenal showdown
Teenage winger Mikey Moore has been spotted in first-team training for Tottenham ahead of their North London derby clash with Arsenal.
The 16-year-old has enjoyed a superb season for the Under-18s side, scoring 14 goals and recording eight assists in just 985 Under-18 Premier League minutes across 12 appearances.
Additionally, the wide-man has also netted twice and laid on an assist in his two FA Youth Cup outings.
His form appears to have been rewarded by head coach Ange Postecoglou, who has involved him in first-team training in the build-up to one of the biggest games of the season – a home derby contest against rivals Arsenal.
Spurs youth expert account Lilywhite Rose posted a picture on X of Moore in training fending off first-team star Dejan Kulusevski.
Mikey Moore an exciting Tottenham prospect
Moore’s phenomenal attacking numbers for the Under-18s are cause for plenty of excitement for Tottenham fans, who will be eagerly anticipating the teenager’s first-team breakthrough.
However, despite his impressive form and involvement with the senior stars, it is unlikely that the winger’s first-team debut will come anytime soon – and particularly not in a game of such magnitude.
Tottenham are chasing a top-four place and are presently fifth in the Premier League, three points behind Aston Villa but with a game in hand on the Villans.
Victory on home soil in the derby would help them close the gap, with only goal difference or goals scored left to separate the pair.
It is most likely that Postecoglou has used Spurs’ week off in the Premier League to mix things up in training and cast his eye over the club’s most promising young talent.
That bodes well for Moore, who will be hoping that an impressive series of training displays can fast-track him into the first team.
