What it'll take for Richarlison to return to Everton as double Tottenham deal lined up
Richarlison's potential return to Everton from Tottenham will only happen if the Blues sell a striker.
That is the view of Spurs expert John Wenham, amid the constant speculation linking the Brazilian with a Hill Dickinson Stadium move.
The 29-year-old featured 152 times for the Toffees, notching 53 goals and 15 assists.
He secured a £60million switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2024, and has a total of 47 goal contributions in 134 appearances.
Richarlison has one year left on his contract in N17, so it may make sense for the Lilywhites to sanction an exit.
However, Wenham believes it would take a very specific scenario for the destination to be Merseyside.
The scenario that could see Richarlison leave Tottenham for Everton
The one outcome that could see Richarlison rejoin David Moyes' side, is if they sell either Beto or Thierno Barry.
Wenham does not think that they would sanction an approach if both strikers stay put before the transfer deadline.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, the Lilywhite Rose owner said: "Everton fans love him.
"Obviously they started the season with a win, they've got Thierno Barry, they've got another guy up front in Beto.
"I don't know if while they've got those two at the club, they'd also add Richarlison as well, that would be a third forward, only if one of those two were to move on could I see a move for Richarlison happening.
"If Tottenham do wrap up the signings of Savinho and Omar Marmoush this week, there'll be very limited game time for Richarlison, and if he doesn't leave now, I think he will leave in January."
Why Richarlison to Everton makes so much sense
The 54-cap international was Spurs' top goalscorer in the league last season with 11 strikes.
However, an exit still makes sense as this is likely the last time that Roberto De Zerbi's side will be able to command a decent fee for his services.
Barry managed eight goals in his first season in England, while Beto notched nine, so a return for the once beloved star also works for Moyes' side.
If the deal was right for the Blues, perhaps we could see movement in the final knockings of the window, if they can shift one of their current options.
