Tottenham's Omar Marmoush breakthrough can lead to high-profile exit from North London
Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a headline addition to their forward line.
So far this summer, Roberto De Zerbi has put his focus on shoring up Tottenham's defence and midfield via the transfer market.
Indeed, of the six new signings made, three are defenders, two are midfielders and one being a goalkeeper.
As such, many Lilywhites fans are hoping to see their cutting edge in attack sharpened before the 1 September deadline.
Tottenham chiefs appear to be prioritising that mission now as well, with irons in the fire for numerous forwards.
One of whom is Omar Marmoush, and Spurs have now taken a big step forwards towards his capture.
What have Tottenham agreed with Omar Marmoush?
Marmoush is a player who has been linked with a move to N17 for a number of years, and is a forward Spurs chiefs clearly like.
Having been with Man City since January last year, the Egyptian international has turned out 62 times for the Cityzens, scoring 16 goals.
But, he would only start eight times in the Premier League last term, and has fallen into more of a squad role at the Etihad Stadium.
As a result, question marks over his long-term City future have been raised, and now an answer has seemingly been provided on that front.
Germany-based Sky transfer reporter Florian Plettenberg claims on Friday that Tottenham and Marmoush have come to a full verbal agreement on a transfer.
He claims that talks between Spurs and Man City are at an "advanced" stage, and an agreement on that side of the deal is expected soon.
Should no hitches emerge in the process, then Plettenberg claims that Marmoush should become a new Tottenham player shortly.
But where is this going to leave Richarlison, and why might this deal prove to be the domino that needed to fall?
Why Richarlison should now be free to seek Spurs exit
Richarlison has been widely tipped to leave Tottenham this summer, with Italian giants Juventus reportedly a main contender for him.
However, things have gone slightly quiet on that transfer front as of late.
So, with the deadline moving closer, doubt has begun to set in over whether the 29-year-old will get his move away from Spurs after all.
Marmoush's impending arrival is likely to change that though, as he won't be coming to Tottenham to sit on the bench.
Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke is a player De Zerbi has talked up this summer, and looks set to play a big role under him.
That would mean Richarlison could realistically be pushed down to Spurs' third choice striker, and the Brazilian won't be keen on playing that kind of role.
So, once the Marmoush deal goes through, perhaps expect things to move quickly on the Richarlison exit front.
