Tottenham urged to raid West Ham again for Jarrod Bowen, 'he'd instantly solve issue'

Published on

Jarrod Bowen would walk into Tottenham's team should he join from West Ham United.

That is the view of Spurs expert John Wenham, who is eager to see the North London side continue their spending spree early this summer.

The 29-year-old could leave West Ham this summer, after they were relegated to the Championship.

Tottenham are in the market for a winger, and Wenham thinks that the Hammers ace fits the bill.

Roberto De Zerbi wants more attacking talent, but the London Stadium side would surely be reluctant to sell another player to their fierce rivals, having already done so with Mateus Fernandes and Mohammed Kudus.

And if the winger is there for the taking, it makes perfect sense for Spurs to pounce now.

What has been said about Tottenham signing Jarrod Bowen?

Tottenham have already signed Fernandes this week, and Wenham thinks they should make another move to poach a Hammers star.

He believes that Bowen would be a significant improvement on what De Zerbi's side have on the flanks already, after notching a total of 20 goal involvements in the Premier League last season.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “He needs to move for his own career - he’s too good for the Championship."

Asked if he’d want him at Tottenham, Wenham said: “Yeah, absolutely. It wouldn’t be a punt - he would start for us at right-wing.

“He would 100 per cent start for us and be good and be a guarantee of goals. I would 100 per cent take him.

“He would be one of our main goalscorers. He'd solve the issue we have in that Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons, when he is fit, do not score enough goals.

Could West Ham turn down more money from Spurs?

The Irons are reluctant to sell Bowen to anyone. They want to keep him around, but the N17 side would represent a particularly annoying destination.

Hammers fans do not like the North London side, and they would not want to sell the England hopeful to them after losing Kudus last summer and Fernandes this time around.

They would probably rather sell to another side, even for a lower price, so that he did not end up at Hotspur Way.

Whether Spurs are actually interested in the 22-cap Three Lions international remains to be seen.
