Tottenham Hotspur-linked Savinho may just have left some breadcrumbs over a possible move to N17.

If the rest of the Premier League weren't aware before the opening of this summer's transfer window that Tottenham aren't messing around for 2026-27, they certainly are now.

Roberto De Zerbi has already added six new players to his squad, with Spurs' first pre-season game not even taking place until the 22 July.

Savinho could soon become Tottenham's seventh new signing too, with it being widely reported that the Lilywhites are making a big push for the 22-year-old Manchester City winger.

The Brazilian wasn't part of Carlo Ancelotti's World Cup squad, but Spurs defender Pedro Porro is enjoying a successful tournament so far with Spain.

And, after Luis de la Fuente's side beat Portugal to advance to the quarter-finals on Monday night, Porro was in a celebratory mood.

Dallas Stadium played host to the 42nd Iberian derby on Monday evening, with two of the World Cup's big contenders in Portugal and Spain clashing in the Round of 16.

For the most part it was a tight and nervy affair, with both teams cancelling out one another at both ends of the pitch.

The breakthrough finally came for Spain in the 91st minute, as Arsenal's Mikel Merino - who had only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes - stroked the ball past Diogo Costa to send the European champions through.

Porro played the full 90 minutes in this one, as he has done in three of Spain's five games at the tournament so far, and put in a strong performance to help silence Portugal's dangerous forward line.

In the hours after the full-time whistle blew in Dallas, Porro took to his official Instagram account to mark the big win, and praised his teammates for the fighting spirit they showed.

"(Translated) Together we find a way!" said the Tottenham right-back.

"We're in the quarters, and the journey back to Los Angeles continues. Let's go!"

However, perhaps the most interesting and eyebrow-raising element of this post was not what Porro wrote, it's who liked it.

Indeed, among a host of stars liking and leaving comments under the post, Man City's Savinho also liked Porro's message.

The two have no link to one another having never played on the same team together, so could this be a subtle hint from Savinho that he's already forging relationships with his soon-to-be Tottenham teammate? Perhaps.

The latest on Savinho's potential Tottenham transfer

Savinho's name has been linked to Tottenham for some time now, with the Brazilian now evidently a player Spurs transfer chiefs like.

He did only pen a new long-term deal at the Etihad in October last year through to June 2031, which will no doubt have complicated any deal and bumped up City's asking price.

Tottenham don't appear to have given up on acquiring his services though, as transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed on one of his recent transfer shows on YouTube.

"Don’t forget also the name of Savinho," Romano said when speaking on Spurs' transfer plans.

“I always told you Savinho remains a target for Tottenham, and Savinho is a target for Tottenham. Then in terms of timing will depend on several things; the transfer fee, Manchester City movements.

"So, there are a few details before we can say, okay, Tottenham are close to completing the Savinho deal. But the deal is still on. Tottenham have not stopped thinking about Savinho."

Keep your eyes peeled then Spurs fans, as this Savinho saga doesn't feel like it's near the ending just yet.
