Tottenham fans all on the same page after Archie Gray transfer reveal
Tottenham Hotspur may have to consider offloading players this summer in order to balance out their spending.
The Lilywhites have started the window like a house on fire, as they aim to improve on successive 17th-place finishes.
Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson both signed a pre-contract, while Jan Paul van Hecke has joined for £52million.
Spurs are also set to land West Ham's Mateus Fernandes for £85m, while they remain in the race for Sandro Tonali.
But, outgoings will have to be considered at some point.
After the recent news surrounding midfielder Archie Gray though, fans in North London are all on the same page.
Tottenham fans are having none of Archie Gray transfer noise - what has been said?
As per Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle have sent an offer to Spurs for the versatile midfielder.
It is said that the Lilywhites have made their stance clear, with no agreement reached between the two Premier League clubs
Reacting to this news, Spurs fans took to X to voice their displeasure, with one supporter telling the Magpies to "jog on", while others even offered an alternative.
Some fans would joke and place a valuation on his head, comparing Gray to England international Elliot Anderson.
The youngster has operated in multiple roles since joining Spurs in 2024, with fans recognising this.
Despite the fact he is yet to fully break into the side, the Tottenham faitfhul do remain of the belief that he should continue wearing Spurs colours next term.
At 20, Gray is far from the finished article, and could still have a bright future at Tottenham.
For now, he does appear to be saying based on the club's stance, but they must ensure that this is the case.
Gray's Tottenham development makes exit talks difficult to imagine
Joining from Leeds in the summer of 2024, the versatile midfielder arrived as one of the most highly rated prospects in English football.
Tottenham shouldn't be ready to forget that project, and thankfully don't appear to be.
Whenever he has been handed a chance, he has shown intelligence, flexibility, and bags of energy and fight.
And it must be remembered that his opening two years in North London have came in a crisis period for Spurs as a club - operating at a good level across too many positions during this time too.
He may well not be the future of Tottenham, but he most certainly deserves a chance in what will hopefully be a more prosperous year.
This summer however, an exit would be premature.
