Roberto De Zerbi already shows brutal side as Tottenham player told he can leave
Roberto De Zerbi is looking to mould Tottenham Hotspur in his image after steering the club to safety.
The Italian arrived in North London in April, handed the task of guiding the Lilywhites away from the troublesome situation they found themselves in.
That he did, as his side secured their Premier League spot on the final day of the 2025-26 season.
Now, he is wasting no time in the ongoing rebuild.
Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson are all through the door, while there are talks ongoing for deals involving Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and more.
Showing his ruthless side, though, De Zerbi is also having a say in who could leave Spurs this summer.
Tottenham fans will have no complaints as Roberto De Zerbi sorts departure
As per Alasdair Gold of Football.London, Spurs boss De Zerbi has told wideman Manor Solomon that he is not part of plans for the season.
Informed that he can leave the club, Solomon will be looking for yet another opportunity, after a series of loan spells since his 2023 move.
Making just six appearances since arriving from Shakhtar, the 26-year-old has endured a difficult time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Solomon would impress as Leeds United were promoted to the Premier League in the 2024-25 season, but struggled out at Villarreal and Fiorentina last season.
After a difficult spell, Tottenham fans will have no complaints at the pending departure.
Manor Solomon news emphasises key Tottenham direction
With Spurs aiming to bounce back after successive 17th-place finishes, they look to be wasting no time in the transfer market.
Thus far, Tottenham have been linked with moves for Savinho, Said El Mala, Cody Gakpo and even Marcus Rashford - indicating the desire to add wide players to the squad.
De Zerbi is likely left scarred after the events of last season, as he had to deploy Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel out wide, with Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert all sidelined.
Avoiding a similar situation, it is imperative that quality is added to the flanks, with adequate depth also a priority.
It is no surprise that Solomon is on his way out given these links, while it does showcase that getting these deals over the line is a key goal of Tottenham's.
