Mykhailo Mudryk contract examined after Tottenham injury latest

Tottenham Hotspur signed Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea late in the summer window, but it has already not gone to plan.

The Ukrainian has certainly been a polarising figure in the Premier League after his Stamford Bridge switch.

His lack of form contrasted his mammoth fee and it sparked his dramatic fall down the pecking order in West London.

That was only made worse when he was banned for doping and ultimately missed 19 months of action.

He was given the green light to return in July and soon made a shock loan move to Spurs.

Mudryk has since picked up an injury blow that could rule him out until late October, as we now assess what we know about his current contract situation.

What is Mykhailo Mudryk's Tottenham wage?

There have been plenty of complaints aimed towards the Chelsea board for signing the attacker.

They paid upwards of £88million for his signature and are highly unlikely to ever get value for money on that.

Ironically, they could make the majority of their money back after the Lilywhites agreed a £75million buy option as part of his loan.

That may seem like a crazy amount, but Tottenham weren't totally crazy in negotiations.

Valuball details that Mudryk is being paid £50,000-per-week in N17 for the season.

That equates to £2.6m for the year, whereas there are reports suggesting that he was being paid £100,000-a-year at Chelsea.

If that is to be believed, Spurs have managed to negotiate a way to pay half rather than his full wage.

That will make it all the easier to swallow the bitter pill that is his latest injury setback.

What has been said about Mudryk's injury?

The weekly wages paid may be less than some people might expect, but they will be wasted if the winger is stuck on the treatment table.

It looks likely that Mudryk will miss up to eight weeks with an ankle problem.

Speaking on Friday in a press conference, Roberto De Zerbi described it as a "stupid injury".

The Italian went on to say: "We need him back soon because he's suffered to much and he's an important player for us. It's the normal process after so long out.

"Playing without tackle, without different movement and he felt pain in the ankle and then after two days, he made the medical check and we knew the problem, but after a long time, we knew eh."

That is just the latest blow for Mudryk as his career looked to be getting back on track at Tottenham.
