Jack Grealish to Tottenham: Pep Guardiola makes new transfer admission

Pep Guardiola does not expect any Manchester City players to leave in January despite Tottenham interest in Jack Grealish, according to Jack Gaughan.

The report from the Daily Mail [30 December] revealed that Spurs and Newcastle are monitoring the former Aston Villa star’s situation at the Etihad Stadium.

However, any move will not happen in the upcoming transfer window as the defending champions have a thin squad and are dealing with injuries at the moment.

Tottenham to seal Jack Grealish transfer?

Regardless of whether he is for sale or not, Spurs should avoid a move for the England international as he has been in poor form this season and they already have better options in attack.

The 29-year-old did not score a goal in the whole of 2024 with his last strike coming in December 2023 against Crystal Palace.

For an attacker that cost over £100million, that is not good enough and the Lilywhites would likely have to pay a similar fee to sign the 39-cap international.

Therefore any approach for Grealish should not be considered, he would not represent the value for money that Daniel Levy likes in his transfers.

Also, Ange Postecoglou has better players at his disposal to try and drag his side out of their current rut, such as Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-Min and Brennan Johnson who have all contributed to considerably more goals than the City man over the last 12 months.

The North London club could have signed Grealish when he was at Villa but their chance is gone now and he is not worth taking a big-money gamble on in his current form especially when they need reinforcements in so many other positions.

In other Tottenham news, the club may have already lined up a replacement for the injured Destiny Udogie.
