Guglielmo Vicario could finally be about to seal his long-touted Tottenham Hotspur transfer exit.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper lost his place as Tottenham's number one between the sticks towards the end of last season.

He was benched for Spurs' final two Premier League games against Chelsea and Everton last term, with Roberto De Zerbi putting faith in Antonin Kinsky instead.

Vicario has played 117 times for Tottenham since signing from Empoli in the summer of 2023, but conceded 50 Premier League goals in 2025-26 and kept just seven clean sheets.

As a result, the Italian international has been expected to leave N17 this summer, with the experienced keeper unlikely to be content being the second choice in North London.

Finding a dance partner for Tottenham to do business with has proven tough though, but now they may have finally found a suitor for him.

Tottenham News has been following Vicario's expected transfer exit throughout the summer, and now the final chapter is set to be written.

As per Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are set to give up on their pursuit of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, and turn their attention towards Vicario and Parma's Zion Suzuki.

It's claimed that Spurs are offering Vicario out for loan with an option to purchase him for £12.8million.

Juventus are said to be happy with that framework for a deal, and thus could imminently firm up their reported interest with a concrete approach.

But what is Juve's goalkeeping situation at the moment, and why might they be keen to sign Vicario ASAP?

Why Juventus are set to lose current number one goalkeeper

The Serie A giants are set to undergo some major changes in their goalkeeping department this summer.

Juventus' current number one, Michele Di Gregorio, is being heavily linked with a move away from Turin, with Leeds United having been one of the sides widely touted with his signature.

However, the Whites are set to complete a club-record £40m signing of James Trafford from Manchester City, so whilst that could end their interest in Gregorio, the 29-year-old is sure to have suitors elsewhere.

Should Gregorio leave, Juve only have 36-year-old Carlo Pinsoglio and 33-year-old Mattia Perin as their two other senior keepers.

The former has only made six competitive appearances for Juve since signing in the summer of 2017, whilst the latter has been the backup since returning back to Turin in the summer of 2021 after loan spells with Genoa.

So, should Vicario sign for Juventus, he would appear to have the starting role lined up for him, and having performed well in Serie A before, this could be an excellent move for him.
