Gabby Agbonlahor laughs at Tottenham transfer news shared live on Sky Sports

Gabby Agbonlahor has laughed at AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori rejecting a move to Tottenham in the winter transfer window.

The former Aston Villa ace commented with “Lol” – laugh out loud – on his personal X account (1 February) to news of the defender snubbing the North London outfit.

Sky Italy, via Sky Sports News (1 February), reported that the English defender has declined to sign for Spurs before the 3 February deadline.

Mathys Tel also rejected a move to N17 despite the club reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich over his singing [David Ornstein, 31 January].

Tottenham laughing stock after Fikayo Tomori transfer rejection

Daniel Levy has turned the Lilywhites into a laughing stock with his mismanagement in the ongoing transfer window.

It has been evidently apparent that the North Londoners needed to bolster their backline over the last few weeks due to several injury issues.

Micky van de Ven returned to action as Spurs beat Elfsborg 3-0 at home in the Europa League on 30 January, but Ange Postecoglou had to still rely on Archie Gray as one of his centre-backs.

The former Leeds United star has been deployed at the back in recent matches, and while the youngster has done relatively well, it is clear that he isn’t comfortable in that position.

Tottenham have struggled defensively for some time now, and the fact that they haven’t reinforced their defence with a few days left in the transfer window should be concerning.

Bolstering the backline should’ve been a priority for the North London outfit, but Levy and other members of the hierarchy have taken a rather lacklustre approach.

It’s not surprising to see the Spurs fans turn on their chairman due to his seeming reluctance to spend money wisely.

In other Tottenham news, Levy has been told to “do one” after “disastrous” transfer news.
