Dominic Solanke will be hoping to play an important role in Tottenham Hotspur's new-look side next season, with a second summer signing in Marcos Senesi now confirmed.

The Lilywhites have been making moves early in the window to ensure that Roberto De Zerbi has a squad that he is happy with this summer.

Spurs confirmed the arrival of Andrew Robertson last week, signing the left-back for free upon the expiration of his contract with Liverpool.

De Zerbi is also keen to land his former Brighton star Jan Paul van Hecke, with Spurs readying an offer in the region of £45million.

They could yet look to add a striker to their ranks, as Solanke's injury concerns last season will be on the minds of those in suits at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Spurs are cracking on with business elsewhere, as they have now officially confirmed the signing of Senesi.

Tottenham had pre-agreed to sign Senesi ahead of multiple Premier League clubs, who were also keen on his signature.

The deal just rested on Tottenham's ability to stay in the Premier League and avoid relegation, as their survival meant the transfer would happen.

The centre-back has joined the Lilywhites on a four-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Bournemouth.

Tottenham officially announced his arrival this Wednesday and revealed he will wear the squad number five.

Solanke reacted by liking the Instagram post, which confirmed he is now officially reunited with his former Bournemouth team-mate.

The pair will now be hoping to be guaranteed starters under De Zerbi next season, as Spurs look to build on a positive end to last campaign with the Italian at the helm.

How could Tottenham's defence lineup next season?

De Zerbi often deployed three centre-backs at Brighton, though he's been happy to play a 4-2-3-1 formation in N17.

It's likely that he will stick with this as a way to keep the Lilywhites a possession-based team who can control games, instead of trying to counterattack opponents.

With that being said, Robertson will most likely fit straight in at left-back, with Destiny Udogie headed for an exit.

The respective futures of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro are all uncertain, which makes Senesi likely to be a part of the starting eleven,

Tottenham's pursuit of van Hecke also suggests that Romero and van de Ven will leave the club, which means that's three out of a possible four spots in defence that could be filled.
