Antonin Kinsky contract not all it seems as Tottenham expert shares what he knows

Antonin Kinsky did not extend his previous deal when he signed a new Tottenham contract.

That is what Spurs expert John Wenham has learnt about the Czech goalkeeper's situation with the Lilywhites.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a remarkable turnaround after Roberto De Zerbi was appointed.

Kinsky signed his new Tottenham contract last week to reinforce his status as number one.

Spurs have shown complete faith in the former Slavia Prague man with the latest developments.

One detail about the deal that Wenham revealed will make the goalkeeper very satisfied.

What was shared about Antonin Kinsky's Tottenham contract?

Wenham has revealed that the new deal has the same time remaining as his old one, but it does come with a significant addition to his salary.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: "From what I understand, he already had a deal.

"I believe that the length of the deal is exactly identical in terms of its length to 2031, but it just comes with a significant pay rise.

"When he was signed, he was viewed as a kind of keeper for the future, somebody that was going to be the understudy to Guglielmo Vicario, but when Vicario got that injury and he actually played in all seven of Roberto De Zerbi's games in charge, the manager has seen something in Kinsky, including two clean sheets in which he made fantastic saves against Wolves, Everton and Leeds."

Why Kinsky contract was a clever business move from Tottenham

Kinsky will now look to repay the faith that the club have shown in him, and prove that he one of the top stoppers in the division.

He can do that by keeping as many clean sheets as possible which will help De Zerbi's side to climb up the top-flight table.

They can't afford to be finishing anywhere near the relegation zone, and with Kinsky between the sticks, they will be looking for a European berth.

If they achieve that, it may well prove to be smart planning as they would have increased his wage demands to a much bigger amount.

By securing his future early with fresh terms, they have avoided the potential for that issue, and likely saved a lot of money in the long term.
