All 41 players Tottenham failed to sign in summer transfer window, including Cody Gakpo and electric forward

Tottenham Hotspur were among the busiest clubs during the summer transfer window.

Just shy of £315million was forked out on Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Savio, and Tosin Adarabioyo.

More outlay could be forked out if loan deals for Mykhailo Mudryk and Omar Marmoush from Chelsea and Manchester City are made permanent.

Then were a series of free transfers in Martin Dubravka, Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi to bolster Roberto De Zerbi's options.

But, there were plenty of players who Tottenham were linked to that they did not manage to land this summer.

Here, Tottenham News takes a look at 41 players who were linked but not makde the move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Cody Gakpo stays at Liverpool as Spurs fail to land Premier League attacker

One area Spurs were keen to bolster was attack, which was done late in the window with the additions of Savio, Mudryk, and Marmoush.

Liverpool's Cody Gakpo was a major target throughout the summer, while Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth was high on the wishlist before he got injured.

Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford and Crysencio Summerville were predominantly named, while a deal was said to have been agreed with Everton for Iliman Ndiaye before he moved to Man City.

Pedro Neto, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Jarrod Bowen, Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Bradley Barcola all got tentatively linked, while more left-field names included Amine Gouiri, Andreas Schjelderup, Malick Fofana, Ferran Torres, Mika Godts, Antonios Nusa, and Nicolo Tresoldi.

Tottenham were also after a more central option before Marmoush filled that void. Folarin Balogun, Nicolas Jackson, Victor Osimhen, Santiago Gimenez, Georges Mikautadze, Deniz Undav, and Brian Brobbey were all reported to have been on Tottenham's radar at one stage during the transfer window.

Tottenham get midfield work done early

Roberto De Zerbi wanted reinforcement in midfield, and he managed to get a couple of targets in the door early.

Big money was forked out to land Tonali and Fernandes from Newcastle United and West Ham respectively.

But several other midfielder targets were said to have been interesting Spurs in the summer.

Hayden Hackney was thought to be of interest but he joined Everton from Middlesbrough.

Alex Scott would still be a dream signing, but Bournemouth dug their heels in and the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea seemingly have long-term interest.

Morgan Gibbs-White had a failed move to Tottenham in the previous summer, and tentative links emerged again but never materialised.

Angelo Stiller, Scott McTominay, Harry Wilson, Martin Baturina, Lamine Camara, and Ousmane Diabate all had tentative mentions.

De Zerbi sticks with right-back options at Tottenham

Tottenham were linked with several right-back additions in the summer.

However, with Pedro Porro nailed down as first choice, it was always going to be tough to find a deputy.

As such, Archie Gray - more at home in central midfield - has deputised there in the early stages of the season.

Raoul Bellanova, Anan Khalaili (who joined Crystal Palace), Daniel Munoz, and Neco Williams were all reported targets.

Gleison Bremer was linked as a potential centre-back option as Spurs went for other options instead.

And goalkeeper James Trafford joined Leeds United, as Spurs opted not to sign a goalkeeper despite reports they were looking to do so.
