Levy ‘exacts perfect revenge on Man United’ as Tottenham eye another deal
Tottenham beat Manchester United in the Europa League final, and could now thwart the Red Devils again.
Both Spurs and Man United were desperate to win the final in Bilbao in order to qualify for Europe after woeful domestic campaigns, and it was the Lilywhites who came out on top.
Tottenham are now going head to head with Man United again, but this time in the transfer window, with both Thomas Frank and Ruben Amorim keen on some of the same players.
United are looking to beat Spurs to the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but Daniel Levy may now have a plan to cause their Premier League rivals even more damage.

Tottenham want Yoane Wissa as Mbeumo deal in balance
Spurs and United are both keen on Mbeumo, but the attacker appears more keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Frank is now looking to reunite with a different Brentford forward though, with Yoane Wissa now targeted, and this could jeopardise United’s move for Mbeumo.
The Manchester Evening News (July 10, back page) have now reported that with Spurs keen on Wissa, and United still far apart from Brentford’s asking price for Mbeumo, that the deal could collapse.
Players | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
Bryan Mbeumo | 42 | 20 | 9 | 3.577′ |
Yoane Wissa | 39 | 20 | 5 | 3.079 |
Brentford will only sell one of Wissa or Mbeumo this summer, therefore meaning that if Spurs sneak in behind and sign the striker, United’s move for the winger will no longer go ahead.

Wissa signing a double bonus for Spurs
Wissa was outstanding alongside Mbeumo last season, and Frank reuniting with either player would be great for Spurs next season.
The 28-year-old is capable of playing across the front three, and scored 19 Premier League goals last season.
With Mohammed Kudus closing in on a move, Spurs are clearly trying to add league-ready, fast and versatile options to their attack, and Wissa would fit the bill perfectly.
If Levy can pull a deal off, there will be the extra satisfaction in knowing that United will not sign Mbeumo as a result, but it remains to be seen which player Brentford will push harder to keep.
