Tottenham Women: Martin Ho says ‘a lot more to come’ as Matilda Vinberg signs new contract
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Matilda Vinberg has signed a new long-term contract.
The Swedish international has committed her future after establishing herself as a regular under Martin Ho this season.
The 23-year-old is enjoying her most productive campaign in a Spurs shirt to date, with seven goal contributions across all competitions – earning her a recall to the Sweden squad earlier this month.
Having arrived from Hammarby in January 2024, the winger has continued to grow in North London, before becoming a staple in Ho’s side after suffering a small knock at the start of the campaign.
Reacting to the new deal, the Lilywhites boss highlighted the long-term potential of Vinberg, pointing to the best yet to come.

Martin Ho reacts to new Matilda Vinberg contract
Following her productive season, Ho believes that there is still a lot of room to grow for the Swede, outlining that they are focused on helping her reach an even higher level.
“I’m delighted Matilda has committed her future to the club,” Ho told Tottenham’s media team. “It shows real belief in the direction we’re going, and continuity in the group is a key part of building something strong.”
| Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 2025-26 | 21 | 2 | 5 |
| 2024-25 | 23 | 1 | 1 |
| 2023-24 | 18 | 1 | 1 |
“She’s a player we really believe in,” he added. “There’s a lot more within her that we see every day on the training pitch, just giving her the environment where she can thrive, and the confidence and belief in her ability is important.
“Her technical quality, flexibility across positions and attacking instincts give her a really high ceiling. Now it’s about turning that into consistent impact, and I’m confident everyone will see that.”
Ho also touched on the club’s long-term approach to the 23-year-old, with her development as a player far from complete.
“We can push her levels over the long-term,” said Ho. “I feel she can be someone who contributes a lot to this success and her own ambitions of being in the senior national team with Sweden. I want to help get her there.”
Vinberg development key as Tottenham continue progression
The new deal for Vinberg comes amid her strongest run of form since her arrival in England, while Spurs Women themselves continue to push as one of the sides looking to challenge at the top end of the WSL.
Ho’s side have dropped out of the European race in recent weeks, with successive losses to Everton and Manchester City since returning from the month-long pause.
Though the current campaign is a remarkable achievement, with Spurs sitting six places higher than the 11th spot finished in last term, while they are preparing for a big FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea.
Ho has done a remarkable job of reinstilling belief, while building a fantastic mix of experience and youth as the women’s side of the club continues to grow.
Vinberg is part of this, with her best years still to come.
Still only in her second full season in England, there is very much a long-term project underway in North London, as Ho’s side looks to challenge rivals Arsenal and others at the top of the WSL.
