Xavi Simons reacts to Savinho transfer news as initial Tottenham talks begin
Xavi Simons has reacted to a news update regarding Savinho’s potential move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Lilywhites are looking to set their summer window off on the right note, as they once again look to strike a deal for Manchester City’s Savinho.
The Brazilian has been an outcast under Pep Guardiola this season, and after coming close to joining Spurs in the winter, an agreement may finally be reached soon.
Roberto De Zerbi looks set to have a strong influence in transfer discussions, which means a move for Man City’s winger is something he most likely agrees with.
Tottenham have once again started talks with Savinho, prompting Simons to react to Fabrizio Romano’s update.

What did Xavi Simons do regarding Savinho update?
Tottenham were looking to sign Savinho in the winter window following the departure of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.
However, a deal could not be agreed for whatever reason, but the player is someone Johan Lange and Co. have still kept their eyes on anyway.

As seen in the table above, Savinho really fell out of favour under Guardiola this campaign, despite having an impressive season last year.
He has been utilised on the grandest stage in the Champions League, to which he’s arguably performed better than in the English top flight.
Now, Spurs are looking to capitalise on his value, which has most likely dropped over the course of the season, and swoop in for a smart signing.
Romano delivered an update on Savinho joining Tottenham on Tuesday, which prompted Simons to like his Instagram post.

Spurs also tried signing the 22-year-old last summer, but it’s now said that he is open to making a switch to N17.
Enzo Maresca twist could play factor in Savinho transfer
With Guardiola set to leave, Man City appear to already have their replacement lined up for the Spaniard after a 10-year trophy-filled stay.
That is his former assistant coach and ex-Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who has reportedly agreed a three-year deal to become the new head coach of Man City.

With that being said, Maresca may be willing to give Savinho among others another chance to impress at the Etihad Stadium, which could cause problems for his mooted move to Tottenham.
Either way, the Lilywhites should only be focusing on the players who truly want to join this club; otherwise, they will stay in a repeat cycle of misery for years to come.
