Mikey Moore wishes he could help Tottenham as Rangers loanee opens up on future
Mikey Moore admits he wishes he could help Tottenham Hotspur more in their relegation fight, while opening up on his loose plans for next season.
Moore is currently starring on loan at Rangers this term, as he tries to secure Danny Rohl’s side the Scottish Premiership title.
The scenario is very different at Tottenham, who are just one point and one place above the Premier League’s relegation zone.
The 18-year-old has made it clear that he is loving his time at Ibrox and how Rangers fans have embraced him this season.
Amid the speculation over Moore’s Tottenham future, the teenager stressed he wants to play for Spurs one day but left the door open for a Rangers return, too.

Mikey Moore could have helped Tottenham
Tottenham academy star Moore has made 40 appearances for Rangers this season, and is approaching double figures for goal contributions.
He is still in the fledgling years of his career, but the fact that both ex-Rangers manager Russell Martin and current boss Rohl have leaned on him so heavily, in multiple positions, suggests Moore has a bright future.
| Mikey Moore’s versatility | Statistics |
| Left winger | 10 games, two goals, one assist |
| Right winger | Five games, one goal |
| Left midfield | Five games, one goal, one assist |
| Attacking midfield | Four games, one goal |
| Centre-forward | One game |
According to Sofascore, he has a passing accuracy of 79 per cent, which rises to 89 in his own half, has created six big chances, and averages 3.7 ball recoveries and 1.1 key passes per game.
While he is loving life at Rangers, Moore can’t help but be saddened by Tottenham’s plight.
He told The Athletic: “It’s tough to see people you care about and some of your mates going through a tough time. It’s a club I care about so much. For us to be in the position we’re in is not nice.

“Sometimes I wish I could go back and help but there are some top players there who should be able to help get us out of the position we’re in and push on next season. There is enough quality in that team to get out of it.”
Tottenham have a raft of injuries to players such as Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, James Maddison, and more.
While it may have been too big an ask for Moore to shine at Spurs, it might not hurt to have had him at their disposal, given their absentee list.
Moore still harbours long-term Tottenham ambitions
Despite being just 18, Moore has racked up a decent number of appearances for Tottenham’s first team since Ange Postecoglou gave him his debut.
While Tottenham have handed out very few minutes to academy graduates this season, they know they have a big talent in Moore. And he himself doesn’t want to give up on Tottenham, despite their struggles.
He added, “Whether it’s next year or the year after, I want to break in and make an impact.

“I helped out in some Premier League games and gave a good account of myself and in others I didn’t show enough.
“But now I’m at a point where I can make an impact. If that opportunity comes I would love to get a hold of it.”
It remains to be seen if Moore will be back at Rangers next season, which may happen if Tottenham do stay up.
