Guglielmo Vicario must be first out the Tottenham door as Igor Tudor fallout claim already emerges

Guglielmo Vicario must be the first player to leave during any Tottenham Hotspur fire sale.

Vicario is enduring a campaign to forget after a series of sloppy errors, and Spurs’ 3-1 defeat by Crystal Palace was another poor night for the Italian goalkeeper.

Igor Tudor’s side are just one point above the Premier League relegation zone, with three straight defeats under the interim boss leaving them on the brink of disaster.

But regardless of whether they avoid the drop, Vicario is said to be determined to leave in the summer, and Spurs would be foolish not to make this transfer happen.

Guglielmo Vicario has already chosen his next club

According to Tuttosport, the 29-year-old wants to return to Serie A as soon as possible.

Vicario, of course, had spent his entire senior career in his homeland before completing his switch to Tottenham from Empoli in June 2023.

Off-field matters at Spurs have only worsened his mood, while he is currently enduring a ‘less than idyllic relationship’ with Tudor, according to the same outlet.

The report adds that Vicario wants to join Juventus, ironically, Tudor’s most recent club, at the end of the season, and Tottenham should make it happen.

Frustration was written all over Tudor’s face after Tottenham keeper Vicario bizarrely blasted a free-kick straight out of play during the loss to Fulham, so he certainly won’t protest the transfer.

Spurs would likely be able to land a fee in the region of £17million, effectively allowing them to break even, and this is an opportunity they must grasp with both hands.

Who could replace Vicario at Tottenham?

Tottenham need a reliable, steady pair of hands should Vicario leave, as is now expected.

The ideal candidate would be Manchester City’s James Trafford, who initially arrived as Pep Guardiola’s number one before being usurped by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Trafford has made no secret of his dissatisfaction with the situation, and Spurs should move quickly during the summer to at least test the waters.

They may also weigh up a swoop for Crystal Palace and England’s Dean Henderson, who is continuing to impress at Selhurst Park after being given the captain’s armband.

Of course, Antonin Kinsky is currently Vicario’s deputy, and it is only fair that he is given ample chances to prove himself, especially during pre-season.
