Antonin Kinsky to leave Tottenham after Atletico Madrid horror show

Antonin Kinsky is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer as he looks to rebuild his career after his nightmare against Atletico Madrid.

The goalkeeper was substituted just 17 minutes into the 5-2 Champions League last-16 defeat on Tuesday night following two glaring mistakes.

In brutal scenes, the 22-year-old headed straight down the tunnel after the change, with interim boss Igor Tudor lambasted for refusing to console him.

Now, it has been revealed that Kinsky is set to seek a loan move away.

Will Antonin Kinsky play for Tottenham again?

According to The Telegraph, Kinsky had angled for a loan switch in the last two transfer windows, having been determined to play regular first-team football.

But he was blocked from leaving on both occasions and has instead acted as Guglielmo Vicario’s deputy, making just three appearances in all competitions this season.

His chance to impress finally arrived at the Metropolitano, but after two poor clearances were ruthlessly punished and Julian Alvarez made it three-nil, Tudor hooked him.

Live on TNT Sports, commentator Darren Fletcher said Kinsky was “finished”.

In light of his error-strewn display, Spurs are almost certain to let him leave in the summer, while Telegraph sources have questioned whether he will ever play for the club again.

Vicario will resume his number one spot for the daunting Premier League trip to Liverpool, and it is not clear whether Kinsky will be among the substitutes.

Either way, the 22-year-old, who signed for £12.5million from Slavia Prague in January 2025, will begin his long road back, with his next move to come away from the Spurs spotlight.

Igor Tudor handled Kinsky situation horribly

Quite rightly, Tudor has been criticised from every angle for his man-management of Kinsky.

His failure to acknowledge him after he trudged off the pitch was dreadful, and could have done irreparable damage to the young stopper’s self-belief.

Tudor has a reputation for being a straight shooter with his players, but this bull-in-a-china-shop approach has only made Spurs’ dilemma worse while shattering morale.

As long as he remains in charge, the squad will never be able to patch back together their brittle confidence – and that could spell the end of their time in the Premier League.
