Tottenham only have themselves to blame as Ally McCoist laughs at current situation
Tottenham Hotspur have only got themselves to blame when it comes to a recent dig from Ally McCoist.
Spurs are on the verge of appointing their third manager of the season in Roberto De Zerbi, following the recent departure of Igor Tudor.
The Croatian was brought in to guide the club to safety last month, after a dismal period with Thomas Frank at the helm.
Instead, things went from bad to worse, with the Lilywhites’ winless Premier League run continuing to stretch back to the end of 2025.
Former striker McCoist took the opportunity to take a shot at the club on talkSPORT, and objectively, Tottenham have only themselves to blame.

Ally McCoist fires dig at struggling Tottenham
With Spurs’ one win under Tudor ultimately amounting to nothing as they crashed out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid, the former Juventus boss left the club on Sunday after just over a month in charge.
The Lilywhites are reportedly set to appoint former Brighton boss De Zerbi, who left Marseille by mutual consent earlier this year.

With goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario sidelined for the coming weeks due to surgery on a Hernia, McCoist took the chance to laugh at the ongoing nightmare at the club.
“Just gone from bad to worse,” he said. “Bit more bad news, due to his scheduled hernia surgery, Tottenham keeper Vicario is expected to miss the next two managers.”
As has been the case across English football for large parts of the current campaign, Spurs have become a running joke among fans and pundits alike.
And, it is hard to argue that the club have anyone to blame but themselves.
Tottenham must take a hard look in the mirror after disastrous season
Following the unbelievable European triumph under Ange Postecoglou last May, the current term was earmarked as one of further progress, as Spurs looked to challenge at the top end of the Premier League once again.
As has been well-documented, this has been far from the case, with the North London outfit now locked in a battle for their Premier League future.

And the simple fact of the matter is that it is completely Spurs’ own doing.
Since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019, Spurs have chopped and changed between not just different managers, but completely different footballing ideas and systematic approaches.
Failing to heed the warnings of managers as successful as Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, the Lilywhites have stalled off the pitch for too long, resulting in a complete mess on it as well.
The squad is an amalgamation of multiple managers’ respective ideas – all differing from one another – while many within the ranks are simply waiting for their move away over the summer.
Tottenham find themselves at the centre of all the Premier League jokes at the moment, and this is completely the fault of their own.
Should Spurs go on and secure their safety, a complete reset, from top to bottom of the club, is in order.
