Roberto De Zerbi appointment: Seven coaches who could join him at Tottenham
Roberto De Zerbi could bring up to seven coaches as he takes charge of Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham announced that the Italian manager had been chosen as the man to take over from Igor Tudor on 31 March.
The 46-year-old is charged with turning Spurs’ season around and taking them away from a potential relegation to the Championship.
The Lilywhites currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League, just one point above the final place in the drop zone, which is occupied by local rivals West Ham.
Tottenham finally have their man in the dugout, but De Zerbi‘s coaching team in North London is yet to be confirmed.

Who could follow De Zerbi to Tottenham?
With De Zerbi in place at Tottenham, work will now be underway to appoint his coaching team, who will help him to achieve his ambitions.
The former attacking midfielder brought seven coaches in when he joined Brighton in 2022, per Training Ground Guru, with two assistants in Andrea Maldera and Enrico Venturelli.
Three fitness coaches were added to his staff, Marcattilio Marcattilii, Vincenzo Teresa and Agostino Tibaudi.
| De Zerbi’s appointments at Brighton | Role |
| Andrea Maldera | Assistant coach |
| Enrico Venturelli | Assistant coach |
| Marcattilio Marcattilii | Fitness coach |
| Vincenzo Teresa | Fitness coach |
| Agostino Tibaudi | Fitness coach |
| Ricard Segarra | Head goalkeeping coach |
| Marcello Quinto | Senior Professional Development Phase coach |
Ricard Segarra was appointed as head goalkeeping coach, and Marcello Quinto was named as senior Professional Development Phase coach, to work with the club’s promising youngsters.
Could there be any pushback on coaches?
It remains to be seen whether he brings that many coaches in at Spurs, as too many changes could upset the applecart too much, and make the players turn against him.
He may only bring a few in before the end of the season, then oversee a full rebuild behind the scenes once their top-flight status is secure.

The report states that the N17 outfit have been making more club appointments rather than manager-focused ones, and that could put them in a bind if De Zerbi wants to put his own stamp on things.
The hierarchy at Hotspur Way may well waive their approach as they have already gone out of their way to appease the boss to get him to agree to join earlier than he wanted to.
He initially wanted to join in the summer, once Spurs’ fate was decided and it was known which league they would be playing in next season.
