Tottenham urged to sack Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange instantly after club statement

Tottenham Hotspur fans have made their feelings towards Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange quite clear on the back of narrowly avoiding Premier League relegation.

Venkatesham and Lange have overseen another dire domestic campaign for the Lilywhites that saw them finish in 17th once again.

It is the first time since 1915 that Tottenham have finished as low as that in back-to-back league campaigns.

While staying up was ultimately all that mattered for Roberto De Zerbi, it is clear some major changes are needed over the summer.

And in the view of supporters, that Tottenham overhaul should start with chief executive Venkatesham and sporting director Lange moving on.

Tottenham give clearest indication yet over Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange

Tottenham’s win over Everton was enough to keep them up, but the mood at full-time was more of relief than celebration.

It has been clear for a while now that many at the helm are simply not fit to be in their roles, Venkatesham and Lange among them.

But it appears Tottenham intend to stick behind the pair if a statement released on Monday is anything to go by.

In that statement by non-executive chairman Peter Charrington, he states the ownership are “committed to this leadership group and will give them the stability and support they need to run this club in the right way”.

Reading between the lines, Venkatesham and Lange will be safe from the axe once again this off-season – news that Spurs fans are not happy with.

“This statement is an insult. Sacking Vinai and Lange is the only way fans will take anything you say seriously,” one reply read.

Another posted: “You’ve already lost the fans. Get out of our club you frauds. Complete ineptitude this season, do the right thing and resign.”

“So, in summary, you’re now sticking with the two idiots who backed Thomas Frank for far too long?” another asked.

What else was mentioned in Tottenham statement?

Charrington underlined the need for stability, but that could not be further from the truth.

Sure, it makes sense to now build under De Zerbi for the future, but sticking with those high up just makes no sense at all.

In a way, relegation almost would have forced Spurs’ hand somewhat in that regard as part of a winder rebuild.

Charrington mentioned new appointments are incoming, with Sebastian Kehl expected to come in and work alongside Lange, rather than replace him.

Spurs fan have certainly made it clear they do not want Lange and Venkatesham around, but even another dreadful season has not seen the back of them.
