Tottenham may have Mikey Moore regret that could lead to Premier League relegation

Tottenham Hotspur would be far better off if they currently had Rangers loanee Mikey Moore in their squad.

The Spurs youngster was sent out on loan to Rangers to earn more minutes as Thomas Frank felt his side had enough cover in attack.

Moore may have taken a while to find his feet in Scotland, but it’s clear that he is now one of Rangers’ most influential players.

With Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison injured, Spurs are in desperate need of a creative player that can get the fans off their feet.

And with Tottenham now in a relegation battle, loaning Moore out is proving to be an horrific decision.

Mikey Moore could have been Tottenham’s wildcard this season

The 18-year-old has been tipped as Tottenham’s next gem that’s come through the academy, but it was thought that it was beneficial for him to earn regular game time out on loan.

And to an extent, that worked, as Moore has registered nine goal contributions in all competitions for Rangers, becoming a fan favourite in the process.

According to Sofascore, Moore has created 29 chances in the league this season, which is the fourth-highest of any player in the Rangers squad.

However, as brilliant as his exploits in Scotland are, it’s a bitter pill to swallow for Tottenham fans, who are crying out for a player of his profile.

There’s been talk of Rangers wanting to keep the English youngster at Ibrox, but the North London outfit should resist those attempts.

Regardless of what division Tottenham will be playing in next season, Moore will be ready to play his part in the first team.

It’s just a shame that we aren’t seeing his brilliance in N17 at the moment.

Just how impressive has Moore been for Rangers this season?

While many fans have heard of how well Moore has performed this season, his goal involvements don’t tell the full story.

In the Scottish Premiership, the left-winger has completed 35 successful dribbles, and that total is higher than 87 per cent of all the other wingers in the league.

With 52 shots, Moore has become a huge goal threat for Rangers, sometimes drifting into central positions to find space in between the lines.

From a defensive standpoint, Moore has recorded 5.24 recoveries per 90 minutes, which shows how phenomenal his work rate is off the ball.

The teenager is currently fighting to win the title in Scotland, while his parent club is battling the unthinkable prospect of relegation.

However, Moore’s promising numbers mean he’ll return with confidence, which Spurs will definitely need for next season.
