Tottenham Hotspur might be falling apart, but the future is undoubtedly bright after Reiss Elliott-Parris’ incredible wondergoal for the Under-18s.

Elliott-Parris, 18, is highly rated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it’s clear why.

He signed his first professional contract with Spurs last summer, a deserved reward for his impressive youth performances, and he has continued in the same vein this season.

With Igor Tudor’s side seriously depleted by injuries ahead of their daunting trip to Liverpool on Sunday, Elliott-Parris could make his first-team breakthrough sooner than expected.

What did Reiss Elliott-Parris do for Tottenham’s U-18s?

Spurs’ U-18s have been near unstoppable this campaign, with an eight-game unbeaten run propelling them to the top of the Premier League, four points ahead of Chelsea.

Elliott-Parris has been influential for the club, scoring six goals in his 11 appearances in the competition ahead of the showdown against Southampton on Saturday.

But he was able to add another to his tally in incredible fashion, showcasing the kind of skill and bravery that Tottenham’s senior players have been sorely missing.

The young forward pounced on a loose ball inside Spurs’ half before glancing up and spotting the opponent’s goalkeeper had strayed off his line to the edge of his box.

Using the element of surprise, Elliott-Parris immediately pulled the trigger and watched on as his arching strike whistled through the air and dropped into the net.

It was an audacious moment, with the ace quite rightly mobbed by his team-mates.

Elliott-Parris set for bright future at Spurs

Elliott-Parris has also proven himself at a higher level, having found the back of the net twice in the U-19 UEFA Youth League and played sporadically for the U21s.

In his five Premier League 2 outings, he has chalked up an assist, playing 200 minutes.

As a reward for his displays, the youth sensation has been capped by Guyana at U-20 level and scored on his international debut in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship qualifiers.

Fortunately for Spurs, they have tied him down for the foreseeable future and will hope to reap the rewards of their patience over the coming years.

Provided they stay in the Premier League, his top-flight debut cannot be far away.
