Tottenham fans play their part with ‘incredible’ scenes pre-Nottingham Forest

Tottenham Hotspur supporters gathered in their thousands to welcome the team coach ahead of Sunday’s crucial showdown with Nottingham Forest.

Spurs find themselves heavily involved in a Premier League relegation battle, with the visit of Forest deemed one of the most important league games in the North London club’s recent history.

While Tottenham fans have spent much of this season protesting against the running of the club, all that was put to one side – even if just for one game – on Sunday.

Fan groups put a halt to planned protests in the stands and instead put that energy into calling on supporters to gather in their numbers outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And as footage from those taking part goes to show, Tottenham’s players are being fully backed to defeat Forest on home soil.

Spurs fans gather in their thousands outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

It is hard to put a number of just how many were gathered to greet the team coach, but it looked as though pretty much every Spurs fan going to the game was present.

As Chris Cowlin put it on X, along with footage shared from outside the ground, the scenes were “incredible” as fans also backed in the sunshine.

Season Stadium Average Attendance Capacity
2024–25 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 61,700 62,850
2023–24 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 61,500 62,850
2022–23 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 61,600 62,850
2021–22 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 56,000 62,850
2020–21 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 0 (COVID restrictions) 62,850
2019–20 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 58,000 62,850

Numerous others also shared footage from N17, with the Spurs Army fan account saying: “What an absolutely incredible turnout.”

Another posted on X: “The matchday energy of a top 4 club and the table position of a bottom four club.”

One added: “The best fans in the entire world” – a sentiment every Tottenham supporter can get full behind.

Now it’s over to the Tottenham players

Plenty of others, rather cynically, commented along the lines of this all being for nothing.

That will indeed be true if the players fail to turn up against Forest in what is a truly massive contest.

Spurs fan protests have been called off for now, but the good vibes ahead of the match will turn to anger if the worst-case scenario happens and the Lilywhites lose.

Igor Tudor has bought himself some time with a couple of positive displays over the past week, but three points are now an absolute must on Sunday.

Anything less and relegation to the Championship will still very much be on.
