Igor Tudor will be delighted with Nottingham Forest ahead of crunch Tottenham clash
Tottenham Hotspur‘s Premier League relegation six-pointer with Nottingham Forest is looming large on the horizon.
Tottenham will welcome Forest to N17 on Sunday 22 March, in a 2.15pm kick-off that could go a very long way to deciding whether it’s Premier League or Championship football for both sides next season.
As things stand, Spurs sit one position and point above Vitor Pereira’s team, showcasing just how much is going to be on the line when the two sides meet.
Both clubs were in midweek European action this week, with Tottenham losing 5-2 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, whilst Forest took on FC Midtjylland in the Europa League respectively.

Nottingham Forest hand Tottenham favour vs FC Midtjylland
It was a night to forget in Spain for Spurs on Tuesday night, as it also was for Nottingham Forest on Thursday.
Pereira’s men welcomed Danish FC Midtjylland to The City Ground, as they contested the first leg of their Europa League Round-of-16 tie.
However, it was the Danes who raided Nottinghamshire and left with a big 1-0 win on Thursday evening, thanks to an 80th-minute header from Cho Gue-Sung.
Forest monopolised the ball with 58 per cent possession, and registered 22 shots on the Midtjylland goal compared to just six from the visitors, but they couldn’t find a way through.
So, what does that result have to do with Tottenham, and why is it exactly the type of scoreline Tudor will’ve been hoping for?
Well, the second leg of that tie will take place on 19 March, just three days before Forest and Tottenham play in the Premier League.

Given Tottenham’s first leg result against Atletico, Tudor will have to – unless he’s written the tie off – go full strength in that second leg encounter on Wednesday 18 March.
And so had Forest all but wrapped up their tie with a convincing win over Midtjylland, Pereira could’ve had the opportunity to rest some key players and rotate his side ahead of Spurs, but now he can’t afford to do that either.
Tottenham will be out for Nottingham Forest revenge
It will be fascinating to see which side out of Nottingham Forest and Tottenham kick-off their relegation six-pointer as favourites, with both teams hard to back for a win at the moment.
However, the recent bragging rights in this fixture certainly belong to Forest, as they ran out 3-0 winners over Spurs when the two sides last met on 14 December 2025.
Indeed, the Garibaldis have beaten the Lilywhites in the last three Premier League renewals of this fixture, with a 2-1 win on 21 April 2025, and a 1-0 victory on Boxing Day 2024 respectively.
Therefore, Forest are becoming somewhat of a bogey team for Tottenham, but they must put that right on 22 March, and if they do, it could be enough to secure their Premier League status.
