Conor Gallagher situation poses alarming question already: Why did Tottenham sign him?
Conor Gallagher has been dreadful since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Atletico Madrid.
With Spurs at serious risk of relegation from the Premier League, questions are being asked constantly as to why they find themselves in their current predicament.
Whether it be a lack of character, poor managerial appointments or some abhorrent recruitment, they have all played a part.
When Gallagher arrived from Atletico Madrid, his experience was supposed to have a positive influence on Tottenham, but it has done nothing of the sort.

What is Conor Gallagher good for?
£35million may not seem like a lot, but given the lack of influence that Gallagher has had at Tottenham, it certainly is.
The former Chelsea man has found himself on the bench in each of the last four games, and given his performances, he has no right to complain.
| Premier League | Gallagher |
| Minutes | 588 |
| Goals/assists | 1 |
| Chances created | 7 |
| Tackles | 10 |
| Fouls committed | 12 |
First and foremost, Gallagher has lacked the fight that Spurs have so desperately needed in their midfield, and that is showcased by the fact that he has won just 45.1 per cent of his duels.
On top of that, his 202 completed passes place him among the bottom 10.8 per cent of Premier League midfielders, with a completion rate of just 80.5 per cent.
Gallagher has offered nothing in the final third aside from his one assist, while also showing how incapable he is off the ball.
With a contract in North London until 2031, Spurs look to have made yet another big recruitment error by signing him.
Will Gallagher start again for Tottenham?
Whether he will or whether he should are two different things, but there’s a case to be had that the answer to both questions is no.
Spurs are lacking quality all over the pitch, but Gallagher has shown that he is far less willing to fight for Tottenham in comparison to some of their other midfield options.
Archie Gray in particular, has made that position his own, while several others have shown that they have a lot more to offer than Gallagher.
He’ll have a role to play between now and the end of May, but starting him would make very little sense given what he has shown so far.
