Ange Postecoglou embarrasses himself with what he’s just said about Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou believes it is crazy that Tottenham Hotspur are embroiled in a Premier League relegation battle this season.
That is despite the Australian literally guiding the Lilywhites to 17th in the Premier League last season, only surviving because of the rubbish below them.
Second time around, though, Tottenham haven’t been as lucky with Sunderland and Leeds looking likely to survive for another year after promotion.
Spurs are now locked in a battle with West Ham, Leeds and Nottingham Forest for the final relegation spot, with only four games to go.
That was kept together with a late 1-0 victory at Molineux against Wolves on Saturday, but West Ham also beat Everton to stay two points ahead.

Ange Postecoglou in cuckoo land
Despite nearly taking Tottenham down himself, big Ange now thinks it’s “crazy” that Spurs are in that battle for another year – regardless of the Europa League success last season.

Speaking on TNT Sports coverage ahead of the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, the Australian clearly forgot about the last 18 months in North London.
“It’s massive,” Postecoglou started.
“Anyone who would have said that Tottenham would be in this position, even two months ago, you’d think they’d be crazy because of the quality of the players that they do have in their squad.
“They’ve had a lot of injuries, but it’s one of those things, momentum in sport, football in particular, they’ve had the shift going against them for a while.”
Is Postecoglou being serious?
Spurs finished on 38 points last season, picking up only two points from their final five games.
If they did that again in this campaign, they’d be almost guaranteed to be playing Championship football when next season kicks off.

Forgetting his spell at Nottingham Forest, Postecoglou had his worst points-per-game tally at Tottenham (1.53) of any club he has managed for more than 10 games.
With 101 matches, it’s embarrassing that he thinks this situation is crazy, because no fan in North London will agree with that after what they have watched.
40 defeats and only 47 wins in comparison simply isn’t good enough, and it was actually the Greek-Australian who started the domestic downfall.
It’s embarrassing that he has the nerve to come out and try to act surprised.
Instead, Roberto De Zerbi is left with the task of trying to pick up the pieces that have been left behind by three terrible managerial appointments.
Thankfully, he got his first win at Wolves, but much more is still needed.
