Mikey Moore ‘fuming with Postecoglou’ after what happened in Tottenham win

Mikey Moore will no doubt be fuming after Ange Postecoglou waited until the 56th minute to introduce the teen for Tottenham, just as Hoffenheim were taking control of the game.

Prior to the clash, many Spurs supporters made their opinions clear on the omission of Moore from the starting 11 for the 3-2 win, with Son Heung-min starting ahead of him despite his own struggles with form.

Richarlison was another named in the front three and despite his lacklustre first-half performance, he remained on the pitch until the second half when the opportunity to introduce Moore was clear.

Postecoglou opted against that and waited until the 56th minute to introduce Moore to the game and the 17-year-old has every right to be frustrated.

His introduction came at a time when Hoffenheim were starting to get a foothold in the game, making it far harder for him to have an impact, which will undoubtedly be used as an excuse by Postecoglou when he continues to snub him.

Mikey Moore omission for Tottenham was baffling

Despite the woes Spurs have demonstrated in recent weeks, as well as the injury sustained by Dominic Solanke, Moore has been limited to just one start in the last six games, only making an appearance in three.

While you can somewhat understand Postecoglou’s reluctance to utilise him in the Premier League, there is no excuse not to unleash him in the Europa League, especially when Spurs were coasting 2-0 at half-time.

In reality, Moore should undoubtedly have been named in the starting 11 and it is quite baffling that he wasn’t.

Son has struggled for form for several weeks now while Richarlison has failed to have a consistent impact in the final third, and yet Moore is still spending the majority of his time as a spectator.

Their clash with Hoffenheim was almost tailor-made for Moore to showcase his attributes and yet Postecoglou only opted to use him when Spurs had their backs to the wall.

For a player of his ability, he deserves far more game time, especially given the current situation at the club.
