Tottenham Hotspur are now runaway favourites to sign Southampton forward Tyler Dibling, according to Gambling.com.

As of Thursday afternoon (23 January), Spurs are now 6/5 favourites to acquire the Saints ace, who is garnering mass interest with his club destined to drop back into the Championship in May.

The bookmakers have ranked the probability of Dibling joining Ange Postecoglou's side as 45.5 percent, though Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas shared (22 January) that Southampton will not entertain any offers for the 18-year-old of under £55million.

Chelsea and Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest, as well as Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

Tottenham in the race for Tyler Dibling

Tottenham would give their fanbase a boost if they were to capture Dibling, who Southampton understandably are in no mood to sell during this transfer window.

The teenage talent has been a beacon of hope in a dismal campaign for the Saints, who were thrashed 5-0 at home in December by Spurs - who themselves sit just five places off the South Coast outfit at the bottom of the Premier League.

Dibling is one of the last remaining cards to continue to play for Ivan Juric with Southampton almost certainly down, while it is unlikely the England youth prospect would start regularly for Spurs without further forward injuries.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will be the first if any to test the resolve of Juric's side, who are desperate to keep a player who has offered some degree of excitement to the apathetic Saints fans at St Mary's.

Spurs have so far only signed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky during the window this month, with 11 days remaining until the 3 February deadline.
