Daniel Levy has lost the plot as Tottenham rejected three times

Daniel Levy will cost Tottenham this season unless he alters his transfer strategy.

The Lilywhites have been battling an injury crisis for most of the season, yet goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky remains the sole acquisition in the winter transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is missing key players in every crucial area of the pitch, leading to poor results on the pitch and his future on the line despite Spurs remaining eager not to rush into any long-term decisions [The Telegraph].

However, it is time to point the finger at Levy as Tottenham face the very real possibility of leaving Postecoglou short-staffed past the 3 February deadline.

Daniel Levy is playing with fire at Tottenham

With less than two days left of the winter transfer window, time is running out for Levy to face the reality of his situation.

Tottenham are 15th in the Premier League, have failed to produce a consistent run of form all season, and are 16 points adrift of the European places.

While Randal Kolo Muani’s rejection of Spurs for a move to Juventus [Fabrizio Romano] was a blow to the plans, other alternative and arguably more exciting options were available for Levy to pursue.

However, the wheels are falling off in North London, and this is hardly surprising given the calibre of players they are targeting in the final days.

Now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio (1 February), Fikayo Tomori has followed suit and declined Spurs’ advances despite an agreement with AC Milan over the transfer.

Three players have now opposed a move to North London, and Levy looks as lost as ever.

Nevertheless, this is the reality of the situation, and it is foolish to suggest that players of such quality would deem the Lilywhites a desirable landing spot, with no European football likely for next season.

Levy has bottled it, and with little time left, he seriously has to consider the quality of talent who will still consider a move to Tottenham before the deadline.
