Cristian Romero ‘can leave Tottenham’ after new footage from Hotspur Way

Tottenham could lose some key players in the summer transfer window after a dismal campaign, even if they win the Europa League.

Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away, as the World Cup winner has just two years left on his contract.

Tottenham will have to win the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League next season, or miss out on Europe entirely, which would affect their financial firepower in the summer.

Romero is said to have agreed on a move to Atletico Madrid already, and Tottenham could be better off selling him after another new development.

Radu Dragusin returns to Tottenham training pitch

Tottenham were dealt a blow when defender Radu Dragusin picked up a long-term anterior cruciate ligament injury in January, which was set to keep him sidelined for months.

However, Dragusin looks set to return remarkably ahead of schedule, as the centre-back has now been spotted running on grass already.

The Romanian international has now posted a video of himself at Hotspur Way, where he is running on the pitch, just 12 weeks after his operation following his injury.

With Dragusin seemingly set to return ahead of schedule and perhaps in time for the start of next season, this could help Spurs make a decision over Romero.

Tottenham could sell Romero

Atletico are very keen on Romero, with Julian Alvarez even stating that he would love to see his Argentina teammate join him in Madrid.

If Romero is unwilling to sign a new contract, then Spurs may have to sell him now while his value is high, and reinvest the potential fee across the squad.

At centre-back, Dragusin’s return could help replace Romero. Although the 23-year-old struggled at times before his injury, he was playing in an unsettled defence and suffering from a lack of consistent starts.

With Kevin Danso also likely to stay, Spurs can start the process of moving on from Romero, and they will hope that Dragusin’s remarkable recovery can help kick-start his career in North London.
