Simon Jordan exposes Levy live on talkSPORT amid Tottenham transfer controversy
Daniel Levy has a reputation for being a difficult negotiator when it comes to transfers at Tottenham.
Numerous football operators across world football have commented on the Spurs Chairman’s approach to transfer dealings in the past.
Levy is notorious for trying to eek out the maximum value from every deal, and is not willing to pay over the odds for a player.
This has resulted in multiple transfer negotiations never reaching their conclusion, often to the annoyance of Tottenham fans. However, the 63-year-old has adopted a more aggressive strategy this summer, which has seen him land in hot water.

Simon Jordan calls out Levy amid Morgan Gibbs-White saga
Morgan Gibbs-White was set for a medical at Hotspur Way as Tottenham triggered his £60million Nottingham Forest release clause.
However, the Reds have lodged a legal complaint, claiming that Spurs made an illegal approach, as they never authorised the North London club to speak with Gibbs-White.
Simon Jordan, speaking live on talkSPORT (14 July), claimed that this was not a surprise as he has witnessed Levy adopt a similar strategy first hand during his time as chairman of Crystal Palace.
Jordan stated, “Spurs have had form on this – I had Daniel [Levy] do it to me with Wayne Routledge in terms of speaking to my player before I’d even given him permission to do so.
“He was making offers to me on transfer deadline day and then me saying to him there is no possible way, Daniel, that you can you even get it done today because the player hasnt even had a medical [to which Levy replied] oh, don’t worry about it, he’s round the corner.”
On that basis, Jordan rejected the deal as Levy’s approach did not sit right with him, just as the current Gibbs-White situation has upset Evangelos Marinakis.
Tottenham still believe that the deal will go through, but the delay will certainly affect Thomas Frank’s plans.
Gibbs-White is not as crucial as other targets
A deal for Gibbs-White at the price of his release clause is far too good an opportunity to pass for Spurs, especially as the midfielder’s qualities perfectly fit into Frank’s style of play.
However, Spurs have James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and arguably Wilson Odobert, who are all capable of playing in attacking midfield.
Tottenham have far fewer options up front and in defensive midfield, and while they will be keen to get the deal for Gibbs-White over the line, his signature is not as crucial as other targets this summer.
