Postecoglou sack: Levy ‘told to quit’ Tottenham after Ange replacement update
Tottenham fans have demanded Daniel Levy to leave rather than replace Ange Postecoglou with Massimiliano Allegri.
Pressure has been building on the Australian in North London, with Jamie Carragher the latest high-profile figure to give his view.
With the ex-Celtic boss’ future potentially up in the air, Spurs’ chairman Levy has held “superficial” talks with the Italian over potentially taking over as head coach [Corriere Dello Sport].
It is safe to say that links to the former Juventus manager haven’t gone down well with supporters on X (19 January), with one suggesting that “this club has no direction” and adding: “Levy out”.
This has been echoed by many other Lilywhites, with another saying: “No! It’s not Ange who needs to go, it’s Levy! Levy has to go!”
If the 62-year-old chief was to replace Postecoglou with the Italian, one fan has said they “think it could be levy’s final straw.”
Tottenham fans slam Daniel Levy for Massimiliano Allegri link
There is no doubt that this managerial change would go down badly with the N17 faithful, with one describing the potential decision as “woeful”.
Another described the work of Levy as the reason why Spurs seemingly never get better year after year.
They said: “This is why we are regressing as a club. The sporting department is headless. Ultimately, whichever manager we pick needs to be in line with the vision of the club.
“Going from Ange to Allegri shows a staggering lack of vision.”
Regardless of Allegri’s experience and achievements in the game, one supporter believes that relegation would be a genuine threat if he takes over.
They questioned: “If we appoint Allegri right now we are getting relegated for sure, aren’t we?”
If Levy needed a reason not to appoint the former Juventus manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the supporters have given plenty.
The chairman isn’t particularly well-liked by fans as it is and certainly won’t help his case if he continues to make decisions which could negatively affect the N17 club.
When supporters are saying “please no” to the prospect of a new manager, there is probably enough of a hint there what they think.
