Yang Min-hyeok has made everyone at Tottenham Hotspur sit up and take notice.

The 20-year-old is nearly two years into his career in North London.

He came in from Gangwon FC in January 2025, but is yet to truly make his presence felt with the Lilywhites.

That is largely due to his various loan moves away with tastes of the Championship with Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth and Coventry City.

The winger now finds himself in Belgium with Westerlo as he looks to prove a point to Tottenham.

Yang hasn't managed to do that in the Pro League, but certainly looks to have done exactly that on the international stage.

What has Yang Min-hyeok just done with South Korea?

The attacker has only truly hit the heights expected of him in his days with Portsmouth.

Contributing to four goals in half a season at Fratton Park ultimately saw Coventry swoop in, but limited him to just four outings.

No goals or assists to speak of as his only start under Frank Lampard ended in just one shot, no chances created and a 33 per cent duel win rate away to Stoke City.

Yang is now following a similar story with Westerlo, but isn't letting his club struggles follow into his South Korea duties.

That was summed up on Saturday when he bagged an assist as his nation's under-23s side secured a 1-0 win over Japan.

The Spurs loanee burst down the right flank, as he got past his man twice before playing a whipped cross into the box.

That found its way to Eom Ji-Sung, who went on to find the net.

It may have been an assist in an U23 international game, but to see the attacker use pace to get to the byline and get a cross in is something that Tottenham haven't seen enough this season.

Roberto De Zerbi will surely be taking notes as he could soon get use out of Yang or even use it as an example for his players.

Who can replicate Yang at Tottenham?

There has been a general lack of creativity in forward areas in N17 this season.

A need for goals and assists has been apparent, something which needs to change quickly.

That wasn't a worry for Yang in this example, but that sort of explosive pace and delivery can't be ignored in North London.

De Zerbi will be looking at his squad to replicate that and Mohammed Kudus looks to be his man.

The Ghana international proved against Aston Villa that he can having put up five successful dribbles while also grabbing an assist by creating the joint-most big chances on the pitch.

If he can maintain his fitness, there's no reason why he can't replicate that sort of activity on the wing.

He could now look to Yang and utilise what he's done on the international stage back in the Premier League.
