Tottenham Hotspur have seen Omar Marmoush continue his struggles away from North London.

The forward signed on loan from Manchester City late in the summer window.

There were only positive things to say about the move after his 20 goal involvements in one and a half seasons at the Etihad.

He looked set to become the focal point of Roberto De Zerbi's side after a disappointing campaign last time around.

Things haven't worked out as hoped as the 27-year-old has been largely poor for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham were hoping that Marmoush could change his fortunes with Egypt, but why has he failed to do so?

What has Egyptian media said about Omar Marmoush vs South Africa?

The international break came with the hope that it would give everyone in N17 a refresh.

That doesn't apply to anyone more than the Man City loanee.

His start has been poor and certainly needs to be improved moving deeper into the season.

He started against South Africa on Monday, but once again failed to make his presence felt.

The Pharaohs lost 1-0 in a friendly, with the Egyptian media all saying very little about Marmoush.

Elwatan News mentioned him just once, leaving him with a 6.8 rating.

That was echoed by Alestad as they only had this to say, "Omar Marmoush received 6.8 after 69 minutes."

Youm7 only named the Spurs man as part of the starting XI, as the forward missed out on playing any part in their match report.

This almost sums up his spell in North London perfectly as he continues to struggle in making his presence felt.

The numbers behind Marmoush vs South Africa

There will be questions of whether this lack of inclusion from the local media is harsh. It's not.

The stats certainly don't paint a better picture.

The 27-year-old only completed 68 per cent of his attempted passes, while he failed to land a single shot on target.

That was despite him taking six touches in the opposition penalty area.

Marmoush summed up his showing by failing with two dribble attempts while also being dispossessed three times and being caught offside once.

He also lost out on five ground duels as he failed to show any sort of true quality.

The forward needs to be better as he continues to represent a headache for Tottenham and De Zerbi.
